Help & FAQ

The questions instructors ask most. The same answers are in the app, under Settings → Help & FAQ. Anything else, email support@bitepoint.app.

Getting started

What is Bitepoint?

A diary, pupil list and money tracker for driving instructors. Pay once, use it for good.

Who is it for?

Instructors who teach on their own, ADIs and PDIs. It isn’t built for driving schools with many instructors.

Price

How much does it cost?

In the App Store and Google Play apps, your first five pupils are free. A one-off payment unlocks unlimited pupils. There’s no monthly fee. The web version is free while it’s in testing.

Can I try it first?

Yes. Your first five pupils are free, with every feature.

Your data and privacy

Where are my records kept?

Only on your phone. We have no server, so we can’t see your pupils, lessons or money.

Do I need an account?

No.

Can I export my records?

Yes. Settings → Restore, spreadsheets & more → Export spreadsheets.

Backup and new phone

What if I lose my phone?

Your records are only on your phone. There is no server, so a backup is the only copy that survives a lost phone. Back up regularly (Settings → Back up now) and keep the file somewhere safe, such as your email or a cloud drive. To get them back on a new phone, install Bitepoint, tap "Skip for now" on the first screen, then go to Settings → Restore, spreadsheets & more → Import from a file.

I use Bitepoint in a web browser. Is my data safe?

Add Bitepoint to your Home Screen and back up regularly. Browsers on iPhone and iPad can delete data from sites you haven’t opened in 7 days. The App Store and Google Play apps don’t have this limit.

Using Bitepoint

How does the drive time work?

It’s estimated from your pupils’ postcodes: the straight-line distance, turned into a typical driving time. It’s a guide, not live traffic.

Why is there no drive time between two lessons?

Drive time shows when both pupils have a full postcode (in their name, area or address) and the two lessons are next to each other on the same day. It’s hidden when the postcodes are the same, the lessons overlap, there’s time off in between, or you tapped "Don’t warn for this".

How do I hide pupils I don’t teach any more?

Open the pupil → Edit → Status → Paused or Passed. Pupils who still owe money stay in "Needs you" until they’ve paid.
